A green dragonhide is useless until it is tanned. To tan it you can go to the tanner in Al Kharid. It costs 20 coins per hide to tan. Once tanned you can make vambraces which will take 1 hide, chaps which will take 2 hides, and bodies which will take 3 hides each.
